A team of one, for now. Our founder is an amateur, self-taught, clothing designer.
With no formal education, he has set out to demonstrate that the average citizen of this country has been a neglected and undervalued resource of creative potential.
With ambition, he seeks a build a solid, capable, and genuine team of creatives.
Sustainability. Our mission here at Abaca Affair is to demonstrate the value, both materially and ethically, of using sustainable fibers and other materials to develop products. Contemporary Consumerism has left negative impressions on the natural world. Our Culture needs to reverse this trend.
With the understanding that we live in a world of finite material resources, Abaca Affair seeks to employ and promote the use of the Industrial Hemp Fiber, as well as similarly beneficial natural materials.
Hemp as a material source is multifaceted with many applications in the textile, building material, plastics, and food/agricultural industries. Abaca Affair intends to lead by example and realize the potential of this material crop through the production of consumer goods.
This is a concept years in the making. For too long, the culture of consumerism has served to undermine the foundation and stability of our working population and thus our nation.
The cyclical relationship between American business and American consumer has been interrupted and the generational consequences can be seen whenever we open our eyes to the media and entertainment that surrounds us.
Our consumerism is self destructive and undermines the security of our home. When you support the industrious community around you, not those in a distant land, you are also supporting yourself.
More to come...
